In September and October pupils from 3rd to 6th class took part in training on our school track and at Belleek Cross Country Track in order to select teams to represent our school at the North Mayo Primary Schools' Cross Country Championship. Here are some pictures of the teams who represented our school so well and some of whom went on the Mayo and Connacht championships. Well done to all the pupils who trained and took part.
Jack Judge League 2017
On Wednesday the 21st of June, children from second to sixth class participated in the Jack Judge Gaelic League. We had a great day. The thrilling final was at 2 o'clock with Patrice Kelly's team playing Jack Loftus' team. The final score was 7 goals and 6 points to 6 goals and 4 points. Lucy Lavin, a great granddaughter of Jack Judge presented the cup to the winning captain, Patrice. It was a brilliant day.
Aiden Garvey League 2017
On the 14th of June, we had our memorial Aiden Garvey league. It was a lovely day for a football league. We played group stages, with the winner of each group going through to the final. Diarmuid Coggins' team played Caoimhe O'Malley's team in a tense match, with Diarmuid Coggins accepting the trophy. Here are some pictures from a great day!
Ryan Lynch Soccer League 2017
On the 6th of June we held the Ryan Lynch memorial soccer blitz. It carried on throughout the day and the final was at 2 o'clock. Ryan's brother Nathan played in the final, as his team won the group stages. The Lynch family presented the medals to Marija Fox and her team, and Richie Shelley accepted the trophy on behalf of his team. Thanks to the first years for coming along and refereeing the games on the day and to Michael Canavan for refereeing the final.
