First Day of School
The first day of school
Can be hard for Mum and Dad.
Part of you feels excited,
The other part feels sad.
For many years you've held their hand,
And have been their loving guide,
Now you know the time has come
To leave them by my side.
But it is only for a little while,
As your child will learn and grow.
And at the end of everyday,
They will share with you all they know.
So as you walk away
Don't worry anymore.
I'll take care of all those precious gifts
When you leave them at my door.

Meet our Junior Infants class of 2017/18

Halloween 2017
"Púca púca, Is mise an Púca! Púca, púca, a haon, a dó, a trí!"
I had a lot of scary visitors in my classroom before the Halloween break.  The boys and girls looked fantastic in their costumes!

Magnet Fun
We had so much fun going around our classroom to find what was magnetic. We found that magnets like thumbtacks, paper clips, the legs of our tables and chairs, the whiteboard, the radiator and of course, other magnets!

Christmas 2017
We were extra busy coming up to our Christmas holidays in Junior Infants.
We worked really hard on our Christmas play "The Sleepy Shepherd" and we also played the very important role of the 'Angels' in our School Nativity.  We even had a Christmas party before our holidays...check out the photos below!

Bees and Honey
We had a special visit from Benny as part of our Biodiversity Action Day. He told us all about bees and making honey. We learned that working bees are female and they do all the work; drones are lazy male bees and heather plants produce the best honey. We even got to taste some honey!!!

Planting
We had lots of fun learning about what plants need to grow. Everyone got to plant their own 'marigold' flowers.  We looked after our seeds everyday by giving them light and water.

Looking after the Birds
We set bird feeders outside our classroom.  We saw lots of Grey Tit birds, Robins and Crows eating the bird seeds.

Seachtain na Gaeilge
Bhaineamar an-taitneamh as Seachtain na Gaeilge. Bhí céilí againn sa halla agus rinneamar 'Ballaí Luimnigh' lena chéile.
We made some super cool St. Patrick's Day masks and had a marching parade in our classroom!

A look at what we've been getting up to in PE lately.
We've been practising our dribbling and stopping skills as well as our kick pass.  Its all about control!
