Transition from Primary to Post-Primary
Below are some links to documents that have been used to help ease the anxieties around the change from 6th Class into Secondary School. I hope you find these helpful.
This is from the NCSE and would be used often with Sixth Class children.
https://www.sess.ie/sites/default/files/inline-files/Transition_Booklet.docx
The next is a document from Gorey National School called 'Belonging Plus' which is a fantastic book on how to manage the anxieties and worries and I think would be particularly good during this time of change and Covid 19.
https://www.goreycs.ie/nbss/BELONGING%20PLUS%20HANDBOOK.pdf
Lastly is a workbook produced by the HSE and designed in coordination with Educational Psychologists. It specifically targets the change from Primary to Post Primary.

Dear Parents and Rang a Sé,
I hope you all had a lovely week. Thank you to all the parents and pupils that replied to my email. It is great to know so many of you are helping at home, spending time with your families and pets. I know you are learning lots of new skills from building to gardening to baking. It was lovely to hear people are enjoying movie nights, having barbeques and even camping! I know some of you are managing to fit in school work as well. I had some interesting projects to read and nice photos to look at. Thank you all.
